Wild Arum is available in two sizes: a statement making 100 x 130 cm and 80 x 80 for those with less wall space.
Wild Arum takes its name from the three fruiting spikes of the Arum Lilly also known as ‘lords and ladies’ or ‘cuckoo pint’ which emerge in late summer in shaded woodlands. Other species include: hard fern, maidenhair spleenwort, bramble, wild strawberry, wood sorrel and black bryony.
The Verdant series follows in the tradition of Victorian botanical studies, which combined taxonomic classification with more aesthetic considerations. After repeated visits to woodland river valleys to photograph flora using a rudimentary ‘outdoor studio’, the resulting images are meticulously collaged together to create curated, yet naturalistic compositions.
Each image attempts to capture the essence of a verdant wooded valley in the United Kingdom.
