Tutsan 100 x 130

£875.00

The Verdant series follows in the tradition of Victorian botanical studies, which combined taxonomic classification with more aesthetic considerations. After repeated visits to woodland river valleys to photograph flora using a rudimentary ‘outdoor studio’, the resulting images are meticulously collaged together to create curated, yet naturalistic compositions.
Each image attempts to capture the essence of a verdant wooded valley in the United Kingdom.

TUTSAN takes its name from the predominant berry in the composition — the Tutsan (top right). Other species include: royal fern, buckler fern, beech fern, maiden hair, ground ivy, wild strawberry, herb robert, maidenhair spleenwort, star Moss and pennywort.

Pigment print on 350gsm hahnemühle museum etching paper, UNFRAMED.

130 x 100cm (gives approximately life sized plants) edition of 12 + 2 APs
